I went to a wedding on the weekend. It was the wedding of my cousin, Nicholas and his lovely (now) wife Carissa. It was held at Stones of the Valley in Yarra Glen, a winery. From what I've seen of vineyard weddings, they are clearly the best. No kidding. It was spectacular and a wonderful ceremony. They look so wonderful and happy together.
It began in the 'Chapel', which actually had no religious symbolism at all. It was very quaint though. And air conditioned, for which we were all grateful. The ceremony went without a hitch, and I loved that Carissa beamed a smile throughout the whole thing!
Next it was on to the 'Dairy', really a glorified room with a low ceiling. I would be very surprised if any cattle had been milked there. Regardless, the view set my spine on fire. It reminded me of the Brindabellas in Canberra. Then on to the reception, which was excellent. The food was sensational and the service was terrific. I was quite surprised, but it all finished quite early, about 11:00pm. It was also good to catch up with all the family.
Then we went out. Mick, Mish, Matt and I headed to town, the great Healesville. Let me tell you, it went off! It might be 'cos Mick and I were totally trolleyed, but we had a blast. There was one pub and two nightclubs. The music in the clubs was, was, well it was perfect. Mick and I danced and flirted and danced and flirted for hours. After Mick had a sneaky pash, we wobbled off home. Healesville, a surprisingly excellent evening out. Who knew?
