A surprising, and welcome, gift I received for my birthday included a ticket to the ballet, specifically:
There were some very interesting aspects. I had been told, if I didn't like the craft of ballet, all I need do is close my eyes: it then becomes the symphony! I must say, the music of part one was not a highlight... The girl was also at least 30 minutes "pretty" (late) so we really only snuck in at the very beginning! I learnt a valuable lesson, make sure you read the script beforehand, the ballet isn't particularly communicative with the plot!
One thing that stood out were the sets. I haven't had much to do with sets, or appreciating them, but I thought these were very clever. I also discovered that I appreciate the more traditional style ballet. It delivers a much greater spectacle, more engaging and very striking. It was a rewarding experience, one that I would be willing to try again.

Now in my eclectic fashion, a counter point:
Wasn't it sad about Lowndesy? Ohhh... He gets no sympathy from me, he should have stayed with HRT, the greedy prick.
I really liked this short clip too:

p.s., my current favourite track must be "The Tale of the Unfortunate Country Chicken" performed by the Idea of North. Really quite piss funny, and as usual oozing with talent!
