I went batshit at the library this week and took home about 5 kilos of books. Just finished "Neuromancer" by William Gibson. A re-read, I was looking forward to the dynamism of his writing. I was not disappointed. His writing creates a terrific momentum. Neal Stephenson also generates the same fresh excitement in "Cryptonomicon".
Neuromancer is still so fresh, it illustrates a dizzying imagination, that of Gibson. The origin of Cyberpunk? Something like. It just encourages imagination and breeds energy 10 stars.

ps., I wish I could buy "Blade Runner" on DVD for region 4. Similar cityscapes, similar intensities.

Weird...I just did a re-read of Neuromancer too.
Still hate it though. Sigh. I WANT to like it, but just can't. It's missing *something* but damned if I can work out what.
Hi TJ! I thought you had disappeared!
The subsequent books do have that extra factor, but it was such a departure at the time. I can't help but like it, a lot.
Good to (see) you again...
