I have been reading EV World for a while now. I find it very rewarding. It has great scope and a great selection of articles. I recently saw an article in Automotive Engineering International March 2006 on page 40. Mitsubishi will be developing a pure EV! It was a pleasant surprise. But I was also surprised that I hadn't noticed it on EV world. Did I miss it?

I can't help but wonder if the unsprung weight of the in-wheel motors will lead to handling problems and increased fatigue. But the battery approach seems to be a good sign.

I was recently thinking about salary packaging a car. It made me think of the conditions of many packages, especially large car sizes and minimum mileage requirements. I was impressed this week when I found Tanya Plibersek's opinion piece in the Herald.
Then I was disappointed, I wanted to start that idea! I felt that Tanya finished the article quite softly:
"The Government should examine extending fringe benefits tax concessions to yearly public transport passes"
How about:
"The Labor Party will ensure that the Government changes/(examines/justifies) the FBT packages to consider these implications. Especially in light of the current fiscal, environmental and societal conditions associated with high oil prices and global warming"
But I am glad it has some attention now anyway.
