My two favourite tracks discovered in 2005 were "Lacrimosa" - Mozart's Requiem and "Et in Terra Pax" - Vivaldi's Gloria. Minutes before I left Melbourne last week, I found absolute gold for 2006. Thomas' Music, on Bourke St near Parliament House. This place has everything classical. I've been looking for a good recording of the Gloria in particular and found it in Thomas'. I also found a long lost double CD of Jacqueline du Pre, "A Lasting Inspiration". A brilliant cellist with a sad story.
The best information was saved until last. There exists in Sydney a shop of similar calibre, Michael's Music Room. How is it I did not know of this? Well, at least you all know now!
