I must come across as a total idiot sometimes. I've been to Manly once, well twice now. I performed with a new group on Saturday at the Corso. It must have been 1996, the last time I caught the ferry. As we pull up to the first wharf I asked

S:"Is this Manly?"

Good work dickhead. How was I to remember there was only one stop?

This new group performs pieces centred around a theme. Their last performance was based around ocean songs. Appropriate for the 150th anniversary of the Manly wharf opening. The selection for the next concert is really exciting.

Starry, starry night,
Paint your palette blue and grey.
Look out on a Summer's day,
With eyes that know the darkness in my soul.

Shadows on the hills.
Sketch the trees and daffodils.
Catch the breeze and winter chills.
In colours on the snowy linen land.

Now I understand,
What you tried to say to me.
How you suffered for your sanity.
How you tried to set them free.

They would not listen, they did not know how.
Perhaps they'll listen now.

For they could not love you,
But your love was true.

And when no hope was left in sight,
On that starry, starry night,
You took your life as lovers often do.

But I could have told you Vincent,
This world was never meant for one
As beautiful as you.

The next theme is heavenly bodies; stars, rainbows, planets etc. We'll be performing in the Crypt at St Mary's, which is a very cool venue.

The Padre told me "Vincent" was written about Van Gogh. That makes alot of sense, now I know the lyrics. It was written by Don Maclean, which was a bit of a surprise. It seems I've had an art meme lately. And there's nothing wring with that.

______

I finished my first crossword today! Does that mean I'm old?
