To paraphrase the inimitable Douglas Adams "Humans have a habit of stating the blatantly obvious". In light of that, I present this staggering insight; people maintain blogs for different reasons. This blog is a collection of my thoughts, for which I make no apology. Others express views on myriad topics; personal, political, religious, musical etc.,

I relish the opportunity to devour words. I'll read nearly anything. The breadth of my literary taste is surpassed only by the eclectic range of my musical favourites. I really appreciate what people share on their blogs. I consider it a priveledge to read their thoughts, it helps me keep some perspective on my own experiences.

To my knowledge, none of my friends maintain a blog. I do not have an avenue to query and discuss blog etiquette. Blogsurfing all feels voyeuristic. I imagine it is like reading someone's personal diary. With this in mind, posting comments seems invasive, particularly if you don't know the blogger. Although, I have seen comments really strengthen some entries. It could be considered a sign of appreciation of a good post? Some bloggers write so well, I feel compelled to visit their blogs on a nearly daily basis. I wonder if it looks like stalking? It sometimes feels like it.

So the other day (backwards) when I had the opportunity to meet some of these bloggers in the flesh, the stalker feeling rose to the surface and rendered useless my already limited social skills. A missed chance, a real shame. I assume there will be another event?

ps. for the first time, yesterday Blogger ate my post. Not happy, why are the first efforts always better?
