I had the delightful task of stepping in for my boss this afternoon. What for? To entertain a small party of academics from Kyushu. I had hoped I would be able to follow some of the conversation. It was so refreshing to let the waves of Japanese conversation wash over me. Alas, my Japanese skills are even more rusty than I thought, but they did mumble.
